There are plenty of sun loungers and thatched palapas for shade. The resort also has a large pool and a separate pool for children. Organized pool activities during the week include water aerobics, pool volleyball and snorkeling demonstrations. The daily resort activity program features yoga, aerobics, sports and crafts and there are tennis courts with lights for night play. Tennis gear can be signed out at the Sports Desk. Guests can also enjoy additional amenities at sister clubs, The Royal Caribbean and The Royal Islander next door. A shuttle bus service is available to The Royal Sands and The Royal Cancun Club Internacional de Cancun, the other two Royal Resorts in the famous Cancun hotel zone. There are two restaurants at The Royal Mayan- La Palapa for International and Mexican favorites in a thatched tropical-style palapa with a popular swim-up bar and El Conquistador, an intimate setting with live guitar music for a romantic candlelit dinner.
