They pass the battlefield as they travel to our beautiful area, and perhaps it reminds them that even the drive to Canaan Valley is filled with sights worth seeing. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2013 This was our sixth year at Winterset 35 and each stay has been a great experience. Just a few comments regarding our ratings above: Property general condition: they have replaced the great room furniture once since we've been staying there but it's getting close to needing replacement again as is some of the other furniture including the pool table which needs to be refurbished or replaced. Cleanliness is pretty good but the bathrooms in the basement bedrooms were not properly cleaned (toothpaste in sink and on mirror and numerous hair in one of the showers). It was nice having another refrigerator in the basement. We've booked it for next year and already looking forward to it. Great working with the staff at Best of Canaan! The cottage bathrooms do not appear to be cleaned thoroughly as there was hair in the shower stalls and on the bathroom floors. That would lead me to wonder if the carpets are vacuumed. Also, there was an issue with the gril not properly working and shelving to the grill was broken or missing. Otherwise, it was perfect. We have booked this for next year, as it is a great size for our family and the Larraine (rental agent) is the BEST!
