Review Holly H. from Charleston, WV recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2012 We really liked the house, but the walls could use a coat of paint and they have a mouse problem. We heard mice in our wall all night long. Its a house in the woods so we understand, but it should probably be taken care of. Came with plenty of towels, nice location, and clean. |

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Jessica P. from Jeannette, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2012 This is one of THE BEST get-a-ways my family an I have ever went on. This mountain region itself is absolutely beautiful. The Lazy S is PERFECT. The cabin is so clean, peaceful, cozy, and has the perfect layout. When you step out onto the deck all you hear are the sounds of nature. Donna was wonderful. She answered every question i had prior to our visit, and also while on our visit. The staff was so friendly and on the ball which made our visit that much better. We can't wait to go back. I will not be searching for a different location to stay because the Lazy S is just perfect. We LOVE it. I actually shed a tear when it was time to leave... Thank you for the first of many many visits to come :) Jessica and family |

Great location, but had problems Michael W. from Moundsville, WV does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2012 Our stay was one of many in Canaan. Our 2nd in Old Timberline, our first with The Best Of Canaan. I have to say we were all disappointed because the hot tub didn't work; the toilet in the master bedroom was broken; the garbage from previous renters was still there; the lack of paper products and trash bags; the kitchen sink leaked; the water pressure was horrible. The area was wonderful and the house was big enough to fit all of us. Overall the stay was not as enjoyable as others, and the property management gave us a hard time when we asked for paper towels, garbage bags, and toilet paper since only a half roll of paper products was there, and one garbage bag. They did refund us for not using the hot tub. We will probably not be staying here again; although we will stay with Old Timberline. |

Our stay at the Lazy S Karen G. from Dayton, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 The Lazy S is a beautiful home in Old Timberline. The setting is very peaceful and has a great get-away-from-it-all feel. It also backs up to the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge so there are walking/biking trails just a stone's throw away. The furniture in the house is comfortable and clean. Nice decor. The kitchen is well equipped. The hot tub worked well and we used it once. TV worked fine and had a good picture. There were a few mice - not a surprise in this setting. We trapped them easily. There was a problem with the water during our stay: several times the water just stopped. In all cases, it always came back anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours later but it was hard to predict when it would happen. We would definitely stay there again, assuming the water issue is fixed. |

We had a very good time with this rental & our vacation in Canaan Ed W. from Medina, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2012 Best of Canaan experience was very enjoyable. We had a few property issues but the service from BOC was excellent. Staff was very friendly, efficient and on top of everything(even after hours). If the issues like the front door sticking badly, the refrigerator going out, the water softener recycling during dinner time & showers it would have been a perfect stay. The owner should also put a fresh coat of paint on all walls. Although the place was clean it did not feel clean due to the dirty walls. |

A Very Pleasant Vacation at Lazy S Tracy H. from Pataskala, Ohio recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 We found many pluses by staying at the Lazy S. The house was clean and in good shape. It might sound silly but there's not tons of knick-knacks to move to make room for our things. The decor is just right. The hot tub was clean and whether it was or it wasn't, our guess would be it was new. Very enjoyable after a day of mountain biking off Camp 70 Road or the trails in the wildlife refuge right beside the house. The rocking chairs on the covered front porch were great in the a.m. with a cup of coffee. Sitting very quietly on the porch, in mid-afternoon, deer came out in the front yard. We cooked dinner most nights at the house and found everything we needed although a new large skillet would be helpful. It was in pretty rough shape. The location of the house is private. People can't see you from the road or other houses. We love this gated community with walking trails and 2 big fishing lakes for our kayaks. The deer are everywhere in this community. Its beautiful and peaceful. Although, we like to try new houses every year, I would not hesitate to rent Lazy S again or deal with Best of Canaan rental company. They answer every e-mail and phone call promptly, no matter what its about. They're very eager to give you information about the area to make your stay enjoyable as ours was. |

Family Reunion Carolyn B. from West Palm Beach, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 Our only real problem were mice. Thank goodness we were provided with traps. This should have been handled before we arrived. We were greeted by 2 in traps!!The porches could have a good sweeping! We did appreciate the prompt attention from maintance when we called. We seemed a long way from the rest of our family, except for 1, we'll try to locate better the next time. This was our 5th time in Timberline, We love the place. |

Perfect cabin relaxation! A guest from Beaverdam, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2012 Exactly what we needed! The house was tucked away in the Timberline resort. Beautiful scenery on the way. Perfect relaxing house with all the amenities! The hot tub was the perfect way to relax after an active day of playing gold or canoeing down the Cheat River. The people in the area were very friendly and we hope to return soon! |

Lazy S Lisa G. from Satellite Beach, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2012 All the staff at Best of Canaan were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit the area again and stay at the Lazy S. The cabin was very private and peaceful. The only thing about the condition that I would say would be to update the cookware. Overall a very enjoyable vacation. Thank You! |

Lazy S, New Years 2012 Rachel M. from East Lansing, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2011 Donna from the management company was extremely helpful in booking the house and providing information. The house was in fairly good condition and we had all the necessary ammenities for a comfortable stay. My only suggestion for the future would be to leave a memo about the hot tub, stating the location of the hose to refill it as needed and what setting to leave it on when departing. (We finally found the hose in a bedroom closet which did not seem a logical place for it.) Overall a wonderful stay and we would rent through Best of Canaan again. |

Wonderful Family Christmas Retreat Diane T. from Leesburg, Virginia recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2011 My family had a fantastic time in the WV mountains albiet there was not much snow over the Christmas holiday. We did manage to "hit the slopes" twice. Did not do any hiking as the ground was too muddy. The Lazy S offered us a great hot tub to relax in and plenty of wood to keep the fireplace going throughout our vacation. The kitchen was well equiped (needs more dinner plates because we had to run the dishwasher after each meal) and there were plenty of towels for both hot tub use and showers. Loved the fact that we were in the woods. The Best of Canaan staff was great and responded to our few requests immediately. |

Happy campers James S. from Alexandria, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2011 This house is perfectly located a two minute walk from the Canaan Valley Refuge, with a ton of winding, gorgeous trails. A roomy, comfy house, with firewood provided!!! Best of Canaan was extremely accomodating on our check out day, as my friend was feeling very ill and the folks at the office told us to take as much time as we needed to vacate the premises. Above and beyond, thank you very much!!! |

Lovely Stay! A guest from Fort Thomas, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2011 Loaded up grandma, grandpa and the 2 dogs to celebrate an early Thanksgiving with our daughter. Absolutely loved the Lazy S! It was clean, comfortable and nicely equipped. I made a big meal and there wasn't one thing I needed that wasn't already there. The woodburning fireplace was wonderful! The snow on the ground and dogs curled up by the fire made our stay feel like something out of a Norman Rockwell painting! Hopingto be able to return again in the next few months! |

A Tranquil Break from the rat race Karen S. from Columbia, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2011 Very nice home , spacious , clean and it had all we needed. Got a bit lost getting there though as it was not on our GPS. The hot tub was a pleasure and so was watching the wildlife. Lady at management company that helped us on the Sunday we departed was very friendly and helpfull. All that is really needed there are some nicer places to eat , the Ski Lodge could do with a upgraded menu. |

Lazy S Review July 2011 Joyce R. from Girard, OH does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2011 We loved the area as we were driving in only to find the most unwelcoming entrance to the home. The front door was in bad need of painting as was the entire house. Such a shame, the home could be very nice. While the house appeared to be clean it deffinitely needed a good "spring cleaning" scrubbing. Also, not all of the hot tub speeds were functioning. The website also stated there was a gas grille, however, only a charcoal grille was available and we had to go out and purchase charcoal. We absolutely loved the area, parks, hiking, biking but will not stay at the Lazy S again. Maybe the owners should not be so Lazy and check on there house more often. It has great potential just needs painted and a deep cleaning. |

A wonderful retreat surrounded with beauty Bruce D. from Monroeville, NJ recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2011 We loved the location, complete with lots of seclusion in the woods just a walk away from beautiful lakes, well-kept trails, and picture views. A note on the cleanliness - just found the place a bit stuffy/dusty when we first arrived. Perhaps just needed a touch up. But overall, we absolutely loved the place and hope to go back! |

Great Spring Skiing A guest from Langley AFB, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2011 We took a big chance with the weather but it paid off. We had the best skiing on powder in years. It was great to be so close and so comfortable in the Lazy S. The cabin was so well equiped we didn't miss a thing. While we didn't have young children, it even had equipment for them. We were a little short on comfy living room furniture since our party had several adults. The hot tub was great after a long day, it just needed a filter or water change. Other than that, things were close to perfect. |

A quiet retreat in Canaan Valley A guest from Washington, DC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2011 While overall the house was lovely and we greatly enjoyed our stay there are a few areas that could be improved quite easily. The house is in need of new towels and new pillows, as both linen items were frankly not in good or even passable condition. Many of the towels were torn, stained, and frayed. Several lightbulbs were out and in need of changing. Finally, it would be helpful to have additional toilet paper rolls, dishwasher soap, and platic bags as over the course of our stay we ran out of these items (or very low) and had to visit the rental office to restock these supplies. |
