Kick off your snow boots because you are sure to love your stay here at the Hohenmark Haus. Modern, luxury home with a log motif that posses an elegant Victorian feel to it. Hohenmark, German for "high point," is situated in the prestigious Highlands Subdivision on the 5th tee of Breckenridge's Jack Nicklaus-designed 27-hole golf course. The house is very spacious and sunny and features a beautiful stain glass window in main floor bath. Its 4,000 square feet were planned to accommodate family and friends for leisure activities. It is only a short distance from the bike trails, fly fishing and miles of Nordic skiing, allowing access to year-round recreational opportunities.
The home's four spacious bedrooms each contain private baths with jetted tubs and sitting areas. Furnishings span the globe from native Colorado marble to Dutch tiles and English antiques. Comfortably sleeping 10-15 people, Hohenmark Haus has separate areas to allow privacy when desired.
The front door opens into a small heated entry room where the coats and boots can be shed. From this room you enter into the great room, 30 feet tall vaulted ceiling with log trusses and a bridge spanning the room on the second floor. A moss rock fireplace borders a wall of glass looking out over the 5th tee of the golf course and the beautiful forests. Oriental rugs adorn the hardwood floor; leather sofas and chairs provide a comfortable setting for conversation, to be mesmerized by the fire in the gas fireplace, or to watch the new large 50" Rear Projection large screen TV.
One of the dining areas is part of great room. The round oak farm table from Pennsylvania opens to seat ten by adding the "boards" or leaves. The sideboard is an antique from Alabama and boasts brightly colored leaded glass doors. Just off the kitchen is a hexagonal shaped breakfast room where you are surrounded by windows and all the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. The glass-topped table comfortably seats six and the granite counter dividing the kitchen seats four more. Cooking in the designer kitchen is a joy on the downdraft JennAire island range with its built-in grill. The double oven provides both microwave and conventional ovens to makes meal preparation easy. The kitchen has Delft tile and granite counters. Patio doors from the breakfast bar open onto the ground level patio.
Satellite and cable 32-inch television, DVD player provide all the entertainment you will need. Two separate sources can be enjoyed: one in the media room and the other on speakers located throughout the first floor of the house and patio with independent volume controls.

Garage Sale Extravaganza A guest from Morrison, CO does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2012 We rented this house over Christmas week. It is a nice, big house with heated floors which is nice. However, the furniture is ancient and extremely uncomfortable. It made me think that the owners went to hundreds of garage sales to outfit the place! And the kitchen is a horror to attempt to cook in. It is well stocked for large parties, but with only 2 burners on the stove (other side of stove is a grill) and the lack of useful cooking utensils, preparing a meal was a nightmare. Do yourself a favor and skip this place! Wish someone had warned us! Property Manager Response: Response from Summit Mountain Rentals Dana,Thank you for taking the time to comment upon your recent stay with us at the Hohenmark Haus. I?m sorry that you did not care for the house and we can certainly share your comments with the actual owners in an effort to effect change. That being said, we do have many other options in the Breckenridge and Frisco area that might be better suited for your next stay. Please let us know how we might help find the perfect spot for your next stay.Regards,David |

Hohenmark Haus A guest from Arvada, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2012 This is a great house with lots of room to entertain and relax. Only problem we had was the oven keeps tripping the breaker. If they get that fixed than this is a great house to stay. Property Manager Response: Response from Summit Mountain Rentals Marcos, thank you for your great feedback. We're happy to hear you've enjoyed the Hohenmark Haus, it is perfect for large family gatherings. We've checked the stove/oven and the breaker panel and everything is working perfectly at the kitchen now. Thank you! |

Thanksgiving in Breck! David R. from Lenexa, KS does not recommend this property. Stayed for 8 days in November, 2012 Overall the house is good. Plenty of room for our 12 guests, plenty of beds and baths. However some of the rooms and the way decorated make them useless. Perfect example is the piano room. Altho nice to have pianos and clown decorations the room is nousable square footage to the vacationer. After a couple of days the little things became very nagging. Examples: no TV in back bunk bedroom (shown in on-line pictures), door knobs that will not lock (bathrooms), bath fixture handles that would fall of into our hands (master sink and tub), master shower handle came off in hand as turning on, drawer handels to master dresser fell was like the old joke we played in high school loosen the lid to the ketchup as a joke to the next user. Lucky we travel with a multi-tool. Additionally the second bedroom mattress was very hard and uncomfortable....and 2 of the humidifiers did not work. I called SMR and then talk with a owner's management group and they delivered a couple new humdifiers and installed a topper on second bed which helped. Additionally they left a nice note and 2 bottle of red wine (fruit basket would have been more attractive, none of us drink;)). In conversation with SMR and owner's contact they asked us to make a "list" of items to be corrected. I suggested that they come by with pen and pad to review the nagging issues...however this did not happen. Overall I would rate this the lowest rental that I have experienced in Breck. Not due to the house (loved the size and design) but for the lack of attention to detail and making the home comfortable. We have stayed in 5 different locations in Breck and this one was so-so and will not use in the future. Ps. the house included a very nice stereo system that can be played throughout the house. However at first all we would get is a loud humm...only to find our that the speakers in the stereo room was disconnected...hmmm kindof like the ketchup lid again...just poor attention to details. Property Manager Response: Response from Summit Mountain Rentals David,Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on the home you rented from Summit Mountain Rentals. I hope I didn?t offend anyone with my token?point taken that a fruit basket would have been more apropos. I have made sure that our owner relations manager (and maintenance) is aware of the issues that you experienced. I actually took the time to tour the home after placing the topper on the bed and understand your frustrations?I am sorry that I did not catch that the dresser handles were loose (that I could have addressed on site!). It was nice to have met you at check in and I hope you?ll choose to return to Breckenridge and SMR ?I also hope that I can personally assist.Regards,David |

Overall great experience. Lousy check out - very inconvenient. A guest from Akron, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2011 Property was very nice. They need more comfortable seating, i.e. reclining couches/chairs. Dining area was a little outdated also. Loved having my family all together in one place - we had a great time. Property Manager Response: Response from Summit Mountain Rentals Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you found the check out so inconvenient. We do ask guests to check out at the office. If you have special needs next visit, let us know. We may be able to acccomodate. |

beautiful home needing a few repairs Jan P. from Englewood, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2011 We have used your company three time, and stayed inthis home twice. Kitchen chairs, wood, are broken and unsafe to use. Ice maker doesn't work, would have been nice had we been told to get in ice in town. Alarm went off every few hours all night, waking us. Was glad you got it fixed while we were there. We could of used more sheets. This home is furnished beautifully and a joy to use but is getting alittle used. Property Manager Response: Response from Summit Mountain Rentals Thank you for your comments. They validate our recommendations to owners to take actions that will increase the desirability of their units. |

Beautiful Home in a perfect location of Breckenridge. MELISSA D. from TEMECULA, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2011 This home was perfect for us. My family went to Breckenridge for a family wedding. We needed a place where 3 couples, and 7 children could stay comfortably for 3 nights. This house had everything we needed and more than enough living space. We enjoyed our time staying in this lovely home. The home looked just like the picture on the website. Thank you Summit Mountain Rentals |

Beautiful House in a Most Convenient Location A guest from Colorado springs, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2011 The directions to the Summit Rental Office were unclear. Arriving from the south, on Main Street, it was difficult to locate Ski Hill Rd. At the intersection of Main St and Ski Hill, the street going east is Lincoln, and Ski Hill goes west. Of course, we were looking at street signs on our right (not on the left), so we missed Ski Hill altogether, and had to call the office to get directions. Also, when we called the local telephone number for the Summit Rental office, a recording said the numbers was no longer in service. Directions and local number need to be updated. The people in the office were courteous, but seemed not to identify with the problem of two streets with different names on each side of Main St. Am hoping this comment is taken as a helpful suggestion and not as a complaint, |

Beautiful House! Jeremy V. from Arlington, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in January, 2011 The house was great, the area was great! Very quite. Only negative thing I have to say is that the pictures showed TVs in all the rooms, but the only rooms that had a TV were the LR, Master, and the little side room. Other than that, everything was perfect. Greatly recommend this house! Property Manager Response: Response from Summit Mountain Rentals Thank you for your comments. They are very helpful in ensuring the accuracy of our property descriptions. Hope to see you again. |

Perfect, with just one exception Susan D. from Palmer, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2008 The house is simply beautiful and we very much enjoyed our stay. Everything was fabulous with one exception. The mattresses were most uncomfortable and of poor quality - but that's the ONLY thing in the house that wasn't perfect. Property Manager Response: We have recently replaced the master bedroom with a brand new mattress! |
