Resort: Famous summer and winter holiday resort, approx 5000 inhabitants, situated at the foot of the Passo dello Stelvio in the Valtellina valley, approx 39 km north east of Tirano. Numerous possibilities for entertaiment: spa with sauna and solarium, indoor and outdoor tennis courts. Golf (9 holes) open April to October, Summer ski at the Stelvio glacier, walking or mountain bikes excursions to the Stelvio or the mountain of the Ortles-Cevedale group, horse riding, disco, pub, cinema, museum, library, botanical garden, lots of little shops and numerous village fairs and music concert both pop and classical. N.B. In winter access is only via Tirano or from Switzerland via Livigno. The Stelvio pass is closed in Winter. From Livigno there is a tunnel which is only open from 08.00h to 20.00h - 22.00h on Saturdays.
