3 Night Minimum in Winter. This uniquely designed cabin has a very open feeling and sleeps 12. Lots of glass lets the light in and makes you feel you are outdoors while cozy inside with all the amenities and comforts of home. The kitchen is fully furnished and the large dining room table opens up to seat 10. Living room has open ceilings and glass all round, views into the trees, and a powerful wood burning stove that can heat the entire home when the unique fan controls are going. A 32 inch Cable TV, DVD and stereo with outside speakers help entertain you. The huge master bedroom on the first floor allows in lots of light through the large windows by the vaulted ceiling over the king sized bed. More light brightens the room through the bay window over the fold out single sleeper couch and slider access to deck. The master bath has separate shower and soaking tub with window box for relaxing view into the trees. 2012 remodel added a cozy 3rd bedroom on the first floor over the garage with a king sized bed and an adjacent 3rd bathroom. A laundry /mud room round out the first floor. Upstairs, the large secondary bedroom with open ceiling allows lots of light and includes a queen size bed, a double bed, and a baby crib. The upstairs bath has 2 sinks separate from shower / commode for faster exits for early morning skiers. The huge recreation room has open ceilings and windows galore. It includes a queen size futon and a day bed. A 32 inch wall hung TV can be watched while playing pool on the full sized billiard table. The full desk /work center includes a PC with guest user access cable Internet.In summer, the nearly 1,000 square feet of deck space wraps around three sides and has a picnic table and redwood lounges and large redwood deck chairs. Relaxing on the deck on a summer evening under the starry skies is when you know you are in God?s country. Gilmore visit A guest from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2012 Our family enjoyed our second stay at the Gilmore Lodge. The place is open and airy, and the pool table is a definite plus. The one negative is the lack of curtains in any of the rooms. While there aren't any neighbors close by it still is a bit unsettling to not be able to close curtains at night. But otherwise it's a good place for families, plenty of room and great location. Watching the snow fall or the wonderful stars in the clear mountain sky before falling asleep at night is one of the reasons I live in the Sierras and what makes this cabin a delight for many of our returning guests to enjoy. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 House has lots of windows, wonderful deck to sit outside and read while listening to the wind in the trees. Quiet neighborhood. Close to Calaveras Big Trees, Bear Valley and alot of lakes and hiking places. Kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. Great place to stay, except we would prefer to have curtains/blinds on the bedroom windows; that way we can make the room darker so that we can sleep in past dawn. It was clean, quiet, enjoyable and well organized. Our group enjoyed the huge deck and BBQ'd on our first night . The pool table, tv and the relaxing atmosphere gave us all what we were looking for . Many thanks to the managers who rescued us from staying another night in the other cabin which was a total nightmare. such nice people to work with! We could tell the owners had anticipated everything we would need and had it there waiting for us. We would definitely come back to the gilmore lodge again!
