Lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo (1,345 SF) for rent at Sunflower Beach, located in El Cortecito, sleeps 4! Elegantly furnished 2nd floor property, great pool view, short stroll to the beach and all amenities.
Sunflower Beach features 3 condos of which we have 2 in the rental pool. The other condo is located on the 1st floor and it sleeps 6. 24/7 security. The condo offers everything you can dream off for the perfect vacation. Open floor plan with large living room with Flat screen TV, dining room table seating 6, fully equipped kitchen. Washing machine. First class bedding, 1 bedroom with King size bed and walk in closet. 1 bedroom with Queen size bed with large closet. 2 bathrooms. All linens and beach towels are available.
A lovely terrace off the living room and lots of lounge chairs and a dining room table with BBQ around the pool area.
A large rooftop terrace to dry clothing/beach towels.
At a short walk, you will find the beautiful white sandy Bavaro beaches with its turquoise ocean and great restaurants and bars for a vacation that you will never forget!
Public transportation will take you to the Palma Real and San Juan Shopping centers.
Several small supermarkets are located at walking distance from the condo.

TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM AIRPORT:
? If you need transportation to your rental property, we can send a trusted driver with a van to pick you up.
? The rate is US $35 one way for 4 passengers. There is room for up to 6 passengers with suitcases per taxi. US$5 extra per passenger.
? You pay the driver directly and keep his number for future transportation needs during your stay.
ELECTRICITY IS EXTRA AND BASED ON CONSUMPTION:
? The Dominican Republic is a developing country and it has it's challenges in regards to cost effective electricity distribution. Therefore, to encourage renters to conserve electricity during their stay, they will be responsible for electricity charges during their stay.
? We collect an ELECTRICITY DEPOSIT IN CASH UPON ARRIVAL. It is just a DEPOSIT, real consumption calculated at the end of your stay and deducted from the CASH DEPOSIT PAID UPON ARRIVAL. See deposit requirements below.
? Normal consumption is $5-10 per day for a 1 & 2 bedroom, $10-$15 per day for a 3 & 4 bedroom and $25-$30 for Villas in Cocotal Golf.
RENTALS LESS THAN 30 DAYS: We require an ELECTRICITY DEPOSIT (CASH ONLY-UPON ARRIVAL) of US$20 PER NIGHT for 1 & 2 BDR's CONDOS, US$30 PER NIGHT for 3 & 4 BDR's CONDOS and US$50 PER NIGHT for VILLAS in COCOTAL GOLF.
The electricity meter will be read at check-in and check out. The meter can be self monitored daily. You will be charged at the current rate and deducted from the cash deposit. The difference will be returned to you on the day of departure.

Stayed for 10 days in December, 2014
Negative: mountings are rusted, one shower had no warm water, the kitchen' s Smell. High fee for potential damage was unusual to us. Electricity is very expensive but probably normal in DR.We did not tell us to go to plaza turquesa as correct bus stop (reachable with gua gua or maybe even with bavaro express) so that we got there ba expensive taxi.Positive: huge flat with wonderful furniture. Marti -a kind of houskeeper - was very helpful and friendly. Great pool. Scott Medina is very professional and we had good mail correspondance with him.

Thank you for your review. We will look into replacing the mountings as well as address the warm water issue and the kitchen smell. We do have a handyman that is available during business hours everyday, including Sunday's. I wish you would've informed us of the issues you had during your stay so we would've had an opportunity to fix them while you were here.
There is not set schedule or bus stops for the bus making it difficult to explain to renters about the availability of that service. Bavaro Express does have a schedule; however, that only applies for those arriving via Santo Domingo Airport which is approximately a 4 hour drive by bus.

We verify the electricity meter readings before check-in and after check-out to determine the electricity usage. You were charged for actual usage. It is very simple - you pay for what you consume. We read the meter at check in and read again prior to check out. The meter can be self monitored daily. The local rate is approx. $0.35 per kw/h. Normal consumption is $5-10 per day for a 1 & 2 bedroom, $10-$15 per day for a 3 & 4 bedroom.
Property Damage Waiver (PDW) is included in every rental in lieu of a security deposit. PDW will protect you for up to $3,000.00 in damage, inadvertent acts or omissions during the duration of your stay. Most renters prefer to have piece of mind and not pay high security deposits. Over the years we found that clients would prefer to pay for an insurance of $69 that would cover against any damages versus paying a $500-$1000 deposit and not be sure if they would or how much they would get back after their stay.
