ALL CABINS HAVE A STANDARD REFUNDABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT, A HOUSEKEEPING CHARGE AND 6% CALAVERAS COUNTY TAX IN ADDITION TO THE RENT. 3 Night Minimum; Dec 16 - Jan 3. Walk to Blue Lake Springs Recreation Facility without even crossing a street. This cabin is adjacent tothe recreation facility Tennis Court, restaurant and lake. Master bedroom has a queen size bed, second bedrooms has a King sized bed. In the split loft is a double bed on one side and two twin beds on the other and a trundle bed that makes into a queen or sleeps two singles. Also, game and tv room.

Best of a bad situation

This property is so out of date and filthy that it was an effort to make the best out of a bad situation. The inside of the cabin is cluttered and in need of a deep clean. There were cobwebs and a thick layer of dust and grime on most surfaces. There were dishes in the dishwasher that were not washed. The dishes in the cupboard were not very clean either (I washed any dishes before using them). There were dirty dish towels hanging from the fridge door. The property advertises a washer and dryer. The utility room was so crowded and filthy that it was difficult to get to the aged machines. I also worried about the fire hazard created by storing so much stuff so close to the water heater. The evening we arrived we were so cold in the main room because we couldn't find an ax to make kindling in order to have a fire (the only way to heat that part of the house). We later found the ax hidden behind the door in the cluttered utility room. It was nice to have updated bathrooms, but it would have been nice if they had been properly cleaned. There was a glob of toothpaste in the sink from the previous renters and hair in the corners of the bathroom. The whole cabin could use a proper cleaning, from the base boards to the corners of each room we found hair, bits of food, dust and general grime. The television and entertainment center is at least 20 years old and in poor shape. There were lots of blankets to keep us warm but I questioned when they could possibly have been washed last. I will say that the staff at the rental agency was nothing but helpful and kind. They were very receptive to our complaints and even helped us when we got stuck without chains on our van. The location is beautiful and we were thrilled that our son could just walk out the door and sled in the back area of the house.

We are sorry you found the condition to be so poor at the Twin Peaks cabin. Our housekeeping staff endeavors to keep the properties in the best condition possible, but sometimes things are missed. We are available to our guests 24/7 and do encourage guests to call if something is amiss. We would have gladly sent a housekeeper out to the property to address the situation had the guest consented. We will certainly pass on the concerns about clutter and outdated items in the cabin to the homeowner, as they do use the cabin very often themselves. We are glad you made the best of your time here and hope you will come to stay at a different property in the future.

Great location, true cabin atmosphere

We recently stayed two nights at this cabin near Snowflake Lodge. The location is very convenient to the Blue Lake Springs amenities, including the lodge, lakes and the country club. It's also close to Murphy's Angels Camp and other attractions in the area. The cabin could use some updating on the interior but overall it served its purpose.

The Twin Peaks cabin certainly is very conveniently located if you are interested in using the BLS Recreation Center. The cabin is a bit older and outdated, but the owners are in the process of updating it. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.

Stayed for 3 days in May, 2013
lots of dust and cobwebs, poss because of non use. Washer did not work well. Good cabin for families, upstairs loft has 5 beds and game tables, 2 bathrooms, but we did have to haul out all of our trash. With 3 boys, car packed full, then each boy had to carry a big garbage sack down to Avery to dump garbage. Knowing what we know now, we might try it again. great fishing in area!

Not cleaned prior to stay

Stayed for 2 days in March, 2010
The cabin was not cleaned to the level that we were asked to clean it when we left. There was trash in the basket in the bathroom from the toilet paper roll and the roll was less than half (bathroom was used and not cleaned). The toilet needed plunging. The carpet had wood debris on it from the fireplace and needed to be vaccuumed. The kitchen had used dish towels still hanging. There were lots of cobwebs on the walls.

If this was the case then a call to our office by this customer would have been nice. We would have sent someone out immediately to inspect the cabin, for this is not our standard. This is one of our older cabins but is enjoyed by many returning customers year after year with never a complaint as this one regarding the standard of cleaning being inadequate.
