Wolf Mountain Ski Getaways

ski getaways

Located off I-15, between Powder Mountain and Snowbasin, (and just minutes from each) is the town of Eden and the home of Wolf Mountain. Formerly known as Nordic Valley, Wolf Mountain is now a part of the Wolf Creek Resort, a new year-round resort community. With about 110 skiable acres, it is not as big as the afore mentioned resorts nearby, yet Wolf is considered an excellent place to learn how to ski or ride and is dedicated to helping people get started and/or refine their skills.

Wolf is 20 trails serviced by 2 double chairs, the Wolfdeedo and the Howling Wolf, and a magic carpet. Wolfdeedo was designed specifically for beginners and provides access to the Oh my Heck Hill trail which is a great place to learn. You can also access the terrain park from the top on this lift but more on that later. The Howling Wolf will take you right to the top and has mostly intermediate trails from the top with the exception of Barney's Way, an advanced slope which runs top to bottom underneath the lift, and Bayot's Blvd., the lone top-to-bottom beginner trail and the longest run at Wolf. The rest of the black diamond trails can be found about halfway down on the left side (when looking up the mountain) while the beginner and intermediate trails tend to be mostly clustered on the right.

Back in the terrain park, the freestyle crowd will find about 20 features and something for all ability levels. Those features, as well as the majority of the mountain are also lit up at night and Wolf Mountain stays open until daily until 9pm.
