Located in the western North Carolina mountains, the majority of Lake Santeetlah's shoreline is surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest. The 3,000 acre lake is a peaceful retreat for those looking to go canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. The fish population is comprised of walleye, rainbow trout, brown troug, bluegill, and large and smallmouth bass. The lake also has a swimming beach, a boat ramp, and nearby picnic tables and grills.
