Seneca Lake Lake Getaways

lake getaways

A Seneca Lake vacation home rental is the perfect spot to enjoy the endless recreational opportunities and vast wilderness of Central New York. Named from the Iroquois word "Assiniki" which means "place of stone", Seneca Lake is the second-deepest lake in the U.S., when measuring by depth below sea level. The lake is fed by underground springs and as such is kept in constant motion, never freezing during the wintertime. In the summer, the lake warms to a pleasant temperature and has low boat traffic, making for a peaceful, serene time out on the water.

Seneca Lake State Park is located at the northern point of Seneca Lake, one of the largest of the eleven Finger Lakes. A variety of land-oriented and water-oriented sports are enjoyed. Two marinas offer a wide range of services to the public. A large swimming beach is enjoyed by thousands each year. A bike route, play fields and more are enjoyed at this year-round day use park.

Seneca Lake State Park offers a large swimming beach, bicycle route, a boat launch site, dockage, trout and a variety of trophy fishing, ice fishing, a marina, a picnic grove, play fields, a children's playground and many other water-oriented sports including sailing and power boating. Season for boat slips runs from April 1 through the third week in October.
