Attitash Ski Getaways

Tucked away in the small town of Bartlett is a major mountain resort that deftly combines the old and the new.

Attitash offers an entire mountain of classic New England trails and wide western-style cruisers and glades. Two interconnected mountains are almost entirely covered by a powerful snowmaking system, so no matter what type of terrain suits your fancy you'll be assured of edge-to-edge coverage throughout the season.

So take your pick. Start the day with a classic run like Saco to Ammonoosuc to Lower Cathedral, 1750 feet of vertical, or take a left near the top of Saco to Northwest Passage. The former route lets more advanced skiers and riders drop into Tightrope, Upper Ptarmigan, Tim's Trauma, or Idiot's Option if they wish. Trails on the lower half are about evenly divided among ability levels, but it's here you'll find the Family Fun Zone, with a delightful mix of green circle trails that even Mom and Dad will enjoy.

Attitash is also home to a terrain park and a 500' Superpipe located on Lower Ptarmigan, and a whole trail's worth of parks on Thad's Choice, served by either the East or West Double Double.

The newest terrain offers wide-open cruising on the likes of Wandering Skis, Morning Star, Snow Dancer, and Bear Necessity, as well challenging steeps. Start with Illusion or Myth Maker before tackling Avenger, Kachina Falls or Kachina. This part of Attitash is also the location of several fine glades. Fevertrees to Barksville to Jacob's Ladder covers the lower two-thirds of the mountain with only short breaks. The Abenaki Quad will get you directly to the goods, but the Flying Bear Quad access the entire 1,450 feet of vertical here.
