Lake Mitchell Lake Getaways

Located in Cadillac (45 miles south of Traverse City, 1 1/2 hour north of Grand Rapids), Lake Mitchell is a 2300 acre all sports lake, with an additional 1200 acre Lake Cadillac connected via canal. Cadillac is nicely situated at the edge of the Huron-Manistee National Forest, close to numerous outdoor recreational pursuits. Challenging 18-hole golf courses Eldorado and McGuires, Caberfae Peaks ski and golf resort, and many more within a few miles. Crystal Mountain provides excellent golf and skiing within 45 minute drive. The Cadillac snowmobile trail system provides hundreds of miles of groomed trails.

The 334-acre Mitchell State Park was officially dedicated in 1919. A historic canal connects the two lakes and runs directly through the park. The Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing Center showcases the history of hunting and fishing in Michigan.

Swimming, fishing, boating, camping, cabin lodging, viewing exhibits, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing are all common recreational activities at the park.
