Big Glen Lake is located in Leelanau County and displays a spectacular setting next to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. With no lack of sand to filter through its waters, Big Glen Lake has shockingly clear water with an iridescent glow of sapphire blue. This unique lake is one of two bodies of water connected by a narrow channel beneath a state route 22 bridge. At the end of August, many prestigious schools send students from athletic programs to the Glen Lake area for training. Some of these institutions include the University of Michigan and the University of Virginia.
