Eaton Mountain Ski Getaways
Not far from the central Maine town of Skowhegan you'll find practical little Eaton Mountain, a 700' vertical day area with a surprising amount of diversity.<
Twelve trails and two lifts disperse skiers and riders over 130 acres of terrain. Twenty percent of the trails are suited for beginners while intermediates and the advanced equally split the rest.
Both lifts run to the top; the Poma runs when things get busy (very practical). Beginners can turn left or right and enjoy Badger, or the Fawn to Caribou combination, the longest trail on the mountain at 1 1/2 miles.
Better skier and riders will enjoy Coyote, Lynx, and Fisher, or any of a half-dozen other trails that thread their way down the wooded hillside, including a couple of nice glades and a couple of short but steep drops. And freestylers will have fun playing and catching air in Eaton's terrain park.
