Kuau Beach Getaways

Maui, the second-largest island in the Hawaii archipelago, is a haven for vacationers of all ages and backgrounds. With the wonderful Hawaii weather, a variety of outdoor activities are always available. For instance, humpback whales breed off the coast of Maui from December to March, and whale-watching cruises are a great way to see these majestic animals in their natural habitat. Snorkeling and scuba diving are also great ways to explore the Pacific, and there are several shops in Maui which will rent out the necessary equipment for a day or a week. Of course, Hawaii is the cheapest place to rent a car in the United States, so one great day-trip would be to pack the family in the car and drive around the scenic roads that line the island. Another great way to get some exercise and see some breathtaking vistas is to take one of the guided bike tours down Mt. Haleakala. If you can ride a bike, you can do this, as only about a quarter-mile of the 26 mile trek involves pedaling, everything else is coasting downhill. Some tours of Mt. Haleakala in Maui start at sunrise since that is the most beautiful time of the day in the area.
