Darien Beach Getaways

Darien, Georgia is located just along US 17. One popular Darien attracting is Fort King George. The fort was originally in South Carolina to protect the colony's inhabitants from the Spanish in Florida. It was later rebuilt in Darien as a historic site and museum. Sapelo Island Reserve is another popular visitors' destination. This barrier island is home to a light house and historic Reynolds Mansion. There are guided tours of the island and the mansion a few times a week.
