Palm Beach Getaways

golf getaways

Palm Beach, Florida is a small beach community perched atop a barrier reef island. Its proximity to the Gulf Stream provides the town's lush tropical flora. Besides the usual sunbathing and fishing that most of South Florida provides, one can also take a kayak or ferry to nearby Peanut Island to snorkel and view a variety of marine life, like sting rays, manatees, cowfish, parrot fish and angel fish. For golf aficionados, the Palm Beach Country Club provides a short, but beautiful and challenging course.

When you are ready to get out of the sun, the Henry Flagler Museum awaits you. Once Flagler's mansion, the stunning 73 room estate is now open to the public as a museum. Commissioned for his third wife, Flagler built the house in 1901 and it is said to rival European palaces in its grandeur and splendor. Another tour to take in Palm Beach is the Worth Avenue Walking Tour. Led by James Ponce, self-christened as Palm Beach's "two-legged historical landmark", the walking tour highlights architectural and historical landmarks on the famed avenue.
