Coral Gables Beach Getaways

As the self-proclaimed "City Beautiful", this Miami suburb has much to offer visitors. The city can claim several distinctive features that set it apart from other beach front communities in the area. One such feature is Coral Gable's most prominent resident, The University of Miami. The University offers NCAA sports teams, the Lowe Art Museum, theater, music, and other cultural events. Coral Gables also claims some of the most interesting natural attractions in the area. The Coral Gables Venetian Pool is an 83 year old public pool carved in 1923 out of a coral rock quarry. The pool is an official historical landmark and its 820,000 gallon area is fed by spring water daily. The pool features two waterfalls, caves and grottoes.
