Russian River Getaways

The vineyards of California are world-renowned for the quality of the wine they produce. Several environmental factors cause the wine from this region to be of such high quality, and one of those factors is the Russian River. Beautiful Russian River provides water to several communities in northern California, particularly in Mendocino County. Named for the Russian trappers who inhabited the western North American coast before Europeans arrived, the River is surrounded by several large- and small-scale wineries, most open for tasting and touring.

The Russian River meets the Pacific at Sonoma Coast State Beach, a beautifully preserved beach that will ease the mind and calm the spirit. The River then passes by the communities of Jenner, Duncan Mills, Villa Grande, Monte Rio, the famous resort town of Guerneville, and Healdsburg. Each community is north of San Francisco, the metropolitan city of art and culture known worldwide.
