Soda Springs Ski Getaways

ski getaways

For around 70 years families have been coming to Soda Springs to enjoy the relaxed and unintimidating atmosphere of this little gem. True, it is a bit different from what you'd expect of a ski resort, think more along the lines of 'winter playground,' but the folks at Soda Spring say it best, 'Soda Spring is the kind of resort you choose to take your children to for their first day out on the snow.' Here you'll find only about 652 feet of vertical drop and about 16 trails. But it is easy to get to, only a mile off I-80, and once you are there it takes very little effort to get the group out onto the slopes. There are lessons and rentals available and if skiing or snowboarding isn't your thing there is also tubing and sledding and mini-snowmobiles for the kids.

Obviously you aren't going to find many long cruisers at Soda Springs but there are still some trails here with decent length. Most all the advanced terrain is located at the very top of the mountain and is assessable from the triple chair. The beginner and intermediate terrain is on the bottom half of the mountain, as are two terrain parks, the Kid X and the Triple T. Kid X is the one geared more towards beginners with jumps and banks that will allow budding freeriders to get catch some small air and practice their landings. Triple T usually has some larger jumps and a funbox available. Snow tubing is on the main hill with two separate slopes.
