Cardiff by the Sea Beach Getaways

Cardiff-by-the-Sea is an easy-going beach community renowned for its closely packed group of beachside restaurants and stores right along the coast. A unique aspect of the Cardiff-by-the-Sea coastline is the San Elijo Lagoon. The reef area that has formed alongside the mouth of the lagoon produces some of San Diego's best surfing conditions.

Located on the San Diego Coast, which has been called the Riviera of the West, Cardiff State Beach has a gently sloping sandy beach and warm water. The park lies within a two-mile stretch of state beaches between Solana Cliffs and a series of tidepools to the north. The facilities include a boardwalk, restrooms and cold showers.

This park is open for fishing, swimming, surfing, biking and boating. Beach combing is also a popular activity at Cardiff Beach. Lifeguards are normally on duty and visitors will be charged a day use fee to enter.
