Ventura Getaway Information

The southern California city of Ventura was originally founded by Junipero Serra around the Mission San Buenaventura, which in Spanish means "good luck". With rugged rocks on the shoreline and beautiful hills visible from almost all vantage points, Ventura is a great place to surf, relax or shop!

If you need more evidence proving Ventura's natural splendor, consider this: the area's location between the Ventura and Santa Clara Rivers gives it the most fertile soil in the state of California! Aspects of citrus production are therefore a common sight around Ventura. Other attractions include the Los Padres National Forest, which has mountains, canyons, and thousands of beautiful trees, perfect for that natural escape. But if the water is more up your alley, then check out Surfer's Point, one of Southern California's top surfing spots.
