Coronado Getaway Information

Rent one of the many Coronado vacation home rentals for that Southern California getaway you've always wanted. Nicknamed "The Crown City," Coronado occupies a unique geographic area in the Golden State: a peninsula is attached to mainland at Imperial Beach, California by a narrow strip of land 8 miles long called the Silver Strand. The main portion of the peninsula is known as The Island, while the naval base in Coronado is known as North Island. The San Diego skyline can be seen from most areas of Coronado.

The city is perhaps best known for the eponymous Hotel del Coronado, which was built in 1888 and appeared in such films as Some Like It Hot and The Stunt Man. Additionally, the Hotel is the largest beach resort on the North American Pacific coast, and one of only few examples of a wooden Victorian beach resort. All of Hotel del Coronado is located on the beautiful white sands of the California beach, and draws visitors as well as sightseers continually. Speaking of the Coronado beach, it was recently ranked second best in the country by the Travel Channel, and is known state-wide for its luxurious, calming experience. With the newly-built San Diego-Coronado Bridge, access to the island is easier than ever. Be sure to check out the world-class Skate Park located in the city, with its 16,000 square feet of ramps, bowls, grinds, and jumps, you or your loved ones are sure to get some thrills skating around in Coronado. And with a magnificent 18-hole golf course, 19 tennis courts, and a public marina, there will be something for every member of your family to do.
