Santa Monica is perhaps most famous outside of Los Angeles for "Dogtown", the legendary community in which modern skateboarding was born. This beachfront city is also home to many historic landmarks, including the Santa Monica Looff Hippodrome, a carousel which sits on a beautiful pier.
