The lift system and trail network are also designed to please. One gondola and seven detachable quads handle the critical loads and busy routes; modern fixed-grip chairs handle the rest. Terrain is logically laid out over five areas, Little Baldy Peak, Bald Eagle Mountain, Bald Mountain, Flagstaff Mountain, and Empire Canyon, where the resort tops out at 9570 feet. Since it's a given that Deer Valley can please the beginner and intermediate clientele with acre after acre of packed Utah powder, it should be noted that plenty of steeps, trees, and powder shots can be found on the flanks of the higher peaks. Head to Bald Mountain for Mayflower Bowl, Flagstaff for Ontario Bowl, and Empire Canyon for Daly Chutes, Daly Bowl, and Anchor Trees. The aforementioned are all double-black diamonds. All three areas also boast plenty of single-black challenges, some groomed and some not. Best of all, beginners and intermediates can also enjoy the upper mountain.

Deer Valley's upgraded snowmaking system can now cover a respectable 500 acres, as much or more terrain than the size of many Eastern resorts. Again, this is another manifestation of the resort's commitment to its customers, ensuring an excellent base and early-season conditions.

It must be pointed out that Deer Valley remains one of four resorts in North America along with Alta, Taos, and Mad River Glen that do not allow snowboarders.
